Then Paints My Soul...

As I started this painting, I didn’t have any real vision as to where I would go with it. In fact, I was a little lost and bored with it. However, my daily Bible reading led me to Psalm 145 (specifically v.1-2 &10) which I figured provided me with all kinds of artistic license as how I wanted to praise God with this painting:

1 I lift you high in praise, my God, O my King! And I'll bless your name into eternity. 2 I'll bless you every day, and keep it up from now to eternity. 10 Creation and creatures applaud you, God. (MSG)

So if my sky is too blue and my wildflowers are too profuse, it was a day of praising mixed-in with painting.

All Thy works with joy surround Thee,
Earth and heaven reflect Thy rays,
Stars and angels sing around Thee,

Center of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain,

Flowery meadow, flashing sea,
Chanting bird and flowing fountain,

Call us to rejoice in Thee
~“Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee,” Henry Van Dyke
